Driver’s Retirement

     Green Bay Packers veteran wide receiver, 37 year old Donald Driver, announced his retirement on Thursday. The Packers will be holding a ceremony on February 6 at Lambeau Field. Driver has started and ended his 14 year career with the Green Bay Packers. He is a very decorated athlete. Throughout his 14 season career, Driver has been a four time Pro Bowl player, and has recorded seven 1,000 yard seasons. Also, Driver ranks second in games played by a Packer only behind Brett Farve. According to ESPN, Driver says the retirement has not hit him yet, but it will all be real when his entire family arrives for the ceremony. The Packers fans love Driver not only because of his bubbly personality, but also his rags to riches story. As a child his family was very poor. Driver and his brother turned to any means to get money for the family. Although Driver believes he can still play the game effectively, he is very excited to be at home and spend more time with his family.
